In 2015, the University of Northampton celebrated its 10th anniversary as an institution with University Title and Research Degree Awarding Powers, but our history is much longer and stretches back to the 13th Century with the creation and dissolution of the ancient University of Northampton, England’s third seat of learning. 750 years have passed since the dissolution of the former University but what links these two institutions and the period between the two is the continued support of benefactors to nurture the development of higher level study within Northampton, the County and much further afield.
To coincide with the 10th anniversary, the University launched its maiden fundraising campaign, INVEST. Philanthropic funds are not used to fill funding gaps in our core services; instead they add value and this campaign is seeking donations in two distinct areas:
Towards our environment, providing state of the art facilities for students and staff through the delivery of our state-of-the-art Waterside Campus.
Supporting our people, through driving forward first class research, student scholarships, bursaries and nurturing emerging areas of expertise.
Evidence shows that investment in universities really does make a difference to individuals and society and our campaign is an integral part of our new strategic plan, Transforming Lives + Inspiring Change. Support from our alumni, partners and other organisations will make all the difference. With your help, we can continue to transform lives and inspire change amongst our current staff and students and for those joining us in the future.
On behalf of the future recipients of funds or users of the spaces and facilities, thank you for helping us to continue to make a difference in a changing world.
