Honorand Celebration Reception

University of Northampton’s Honorands were centre stage at a stewardship recruitment reception at the beautiful and historic Tower of London on 25 October 2016.

Hosted within the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers’ Headquarters, The event was part of the University’s Transforming Lives and Inspiring Change Fundraising Campaign which is focused on creating opportunities for disadvantaged students, who without our help, may not be able to receive the life-changing education they desire.

honorandThe event was held to encourage well-connected honorands to become dedicated ambassadors for the campaign and to help spread the message about the fantastic and unique opportunities the University is trying to create for its students.

Honorand and donor Martin Lawrence was Keynote Speaker at the reception and put forward a passionate case on why he supports the campaign and why others should join him.

“The focus on adding value to students’ life chances and maximising employability are ambitions which university supporters feel they can make a direct contribution through the provision of enhanced student experiences,” he said.

honorandGuests at the event included big names from entertainment such as comedian Hugh Dennis and singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading, while corporate names present included Joseph Cheaney and Sons Joint Managing Director William Church.

Honorands were enthusiastic to learn more about how they could help. A large number of honorands have also been in touch with the University after the event to ask how they can help personally.
